The 100th birth anniversary of Sangeetacharya Vishmadev Chattopadhyay falls on 8th Nov, 2008 giving a scope for grand celebration.
The occasion will be celebrated round the year starting from 8th Nov, 2008 - 8th Nov, 2009 by conducting various programmes,
competitions, cultural activities, documentary film show, tour program etc.
We request the Music Organisations to observe the occasion by holding either of the following event at your end
during this period i.e. 8th Nov, 2008 - 8th Nov, 2009 in memory of
Sangeetacharya Vishmadev Chattopadhyay under an intimation to us :

Dedicate one musical programme in the name of this extraordinary genius singer Sangeetacharya Vishmadev Chattopadhyay at your convenience during the centenary year to be started on 8th November 2008 till 8th November 2009.

Conduct a Bhajan competition, the prize of which will be sponsored by us.

Organise a workshop on Indian Classical Music for which our team will extend free service.
Our plans and activities for the celebration of the Birth Centenary of Sangeetacharya Vishmadev Chattopadhyay to be started from November 8, 2008 for one year ending on 8th Nov, 2009 :
- On 8th November morning a tableau with the cut out of Vishmadev will move throughout the streets of North Kolkata
starting from the house of Sangeetacharya Vishmadev Chattopadhyay and touch some remarkable spots like Rabindra Bharati University,
Balaram Dey Street’s house, Vidyasagar College, University Institute Hall etc .
- In the evening a musical programme will be arranged at the rooftop of the house.
- Extending financial aid to the needy artists.
- Honoring the aged and talented artists.
- Music, Painting, Elocution and Essay competition.
- Organizing functions in the Auditoriums and on the launch in the river Ganga.
- Distribution of Greetings Cards and flowers to the residents of Pandit Vishmadev Chattopadhyay Sarani, near New Alipore.
Sponsorship and Financial Support required for :
- Advertisement : Newspaper, Hoarding, Banner, Poster, Banner in the Auditorium, Tableau, Balloon.
- Scholarship/ Grants (single/multiple) : Scholarships for the talented artists and financial help to the needy artists.
- Prize/ Honorarium : For the winners of the contests.
- Sponsorship for programmes.
- Refreshment.
- Making of the Documentary films/ Arrangement of the premiere show.
- Publishing CDs of the unpublished songs tuned by Vishmadev Chattopadhyay.
- Translation and publication of the biography of Vishmadev Chattopadhyay.
